Dear SU Parents:
Your relationship with your college student is undergoing a major transformation. The process of letting go while maintaining a strong relationship is not easy, and your role as a parent or guardian at this crucial time in development is a complicated one. The goal of this workshop is to help you manage and even enhance this transition. More specifically, it will help you understand what your student is going through, increase insight about how your role is changing, learn how you can foster or hinder this transition, and try new ways of communicating. You’ll also learn about warning signs of trouble as well as how and when to intervene. The workshop is going to be held from 9:30am-12:30pm on Saturday, October 24th in room 101 of the Whitman School of Management. Space is limited. Please contact Dr. Melissa Carman at the Counseling Center (315-443-4715) for more information or to reserve your spot.
